Hello and welcome! You may be reading this because you need support or guidance as you
navigate through life. You may constantly feel overwhelmed or stressed out. You may be
struggling to manage relationships. You may notice that painful memories pop up throughout the
day. You may feel stuck or lost. Whether you wish to heal, to cope more effectively, to gain
insight, or to have more successful relationships, therapy can help you to achieve your goals.
I am passionate about recognizing and treating trauma and working with individuals who are
struggling with emotional regulation, depression, and anxiety. In therapy, my primary and
preferred modality is EMDR, as I really believe it is the most effective therapy to help you heal.
EMDR therapy gets to those memories and feelings that keep resurfacing, that are stuck, and
moves them to a part of the brain that stores them in the past. I also use other treatment
approaches as appropriate for the individual.
As a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) in both Iowa and Nebraska, I
have worked in the behavioral health field for over 10 years. I began my career as a mental
health technician caring for adolescents and teens in a residential setting, moving to providing
outpatient and in-home therapy services to children, adults and families for several years while
pursuing my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. After completing my degree I
moved into positions serving as an inpatient psychiatric therapist, mental health crisis response
therapist, and lead therapist for a non-profit organization. I first had training for EMDR (Eye
Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) in 2019 and am working towards certification. I
am also trained in a variety of other evidence-based treatment modalities to include Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing
(MI), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
My goal is to help you explore and express your thoughts and feelings in a non-judgmental
environment where you feel safe and understood. I want to help you gain insight and provide you
with tools to take control and improve your well-being. Beginning therapy is a brave choice and
I am committed to helping you along your healing journey.
