Reaching out for help can be hard, especially when it can be about things we may not completely understand. Working with a counselor on personal details can be an intimidating process, one which I hope to help you through. You deserve to feel relief, feel happy, and heal, and by starting this process you are giving yourself that chance.
I have worked in human services for 15 years and as a counselor for 10 in a variety of non-profit and outpatient settings. I have experience working with individuals looking for help with substance abuse, families that need support and guidance, children and adolescents with a variety of trauma, and adults facing many other obstacles.
I utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions because we all respond differently to each intervention. I want to make sure that your experience is meaningful and you walk away with skills you can use to assist you in however you need them. Some of the methods I utilize are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Sand Tray, Play Therapy, Psychodrama, and Brainspotting.
